Poem: Good Girl Gone Bad By Dayo Owoyele

GOOD GIRL GONE BAD
Loose My Cornrows She Said,
Tonight, I'm Going To Paint The Town Red,
Hair Braider felt a new aura with Winifred,
Okay ooo was the response and not a tear to be shed,
Stop! I'm Not On Your Level She Told Her Platonic Friend,
She's Set For The Fast Lane And It Comes With Hairpin Bend,
New Needs Like Designers As She Wants To Flow With The Trend,
From A Poor Home I Come She Slightly Remembers But With These 'Big Girls' I Must Blend,
As She Emulates Amber Rose And Rihanna With Such Things That Are Vain,
Oh Goodness! She Use To Love Celine And Shania Twain,
But She Sang More Gospel Melodies That Purified The Rain,
Now It's All Dirty And Messed Up With So Much Profane,
My Winifred By Heart Could Draw And Label A Map,
Now She Drinks Syrups And To Wake Her Up Needs More That A Tap,
Pity The Innocence Of Your Younger Sisters That You Give So Much Gap,
Now It's All About Fancies Even The Recent Download Of The Bible App,
She's No More Available For Early Morning Devotions,
Warnings From Mama Against Karma...To Her It's All Superstitions,
Showcasing More Than Cleavage For Instagram Follow And Facebook Friend Request Notifications,
Few Years Ago She Use To Dream Of UN,WHO,UNICEF And Helping Poor Kids In Poor Nations,
Fighting At Okirika Stand Over Pants Or Boyfriend Wahala,
As She Checks Out With A Wink... Hotel Attendants Asked Of Her Friend Stella,
Now With A Regular Look Of A Runs Girl In Selfies At Quilox With Shina Peller,
Lord Have Mercy! Winifred Can Still Be Another Type Of Yousafzai Malala,
She Speaks In Tongues On Every Sundays,
But I Understand It's Merely Following What The Pastor Says,
Two Aristoes Are Still Looking For Her Cuz She Stole One's Watch And The Other's Suitcase,
In Tears Her Mother Prays insofar Her Knees Could Touch Ground Even On The Staircase,
Haven't I Tried To Love Her Still?,
Even Though This Night She's Going Out With Another Man To Buy Her Point And Kill,
I Am A Fool... Is What You Might Want To Say Or Feel,
But I've Cherished Her Ever Since We Came First At Bible Quiz Then Sang At That Church Vigil,
I Advised - When You Can't Cope With Boredom To Some Degree You Would Misbehave With The Wrong Boys (Short Or Tall).
I Advised - When Your Meals Could Come From Anywhere At All,That's The Best Way For A Girl's Dignity To Fall,
I Advised - When You Dress Wrong For The Wrong Place At The Wrong Time You Would Soon Get Caught Up In A Brawl,
I Advised - When You Are Fake Then Filled With Pride,What Leaves Is Grace And The Result Is Fall,
Be A Role Model To The Girl That Watches You In The Hood,
Stop Acting Up To No Good With That Devil May Care Attitude,
The Beauty Of A Woman It's In Her Character...That Should Be Well Understood,
You Are Queen And Don't Treat Yourself Less...Dignify Yourself Than Those Ladies In NollyWood,
Let Your Mama And Papa's Blessings Manifest On You And Not Their Curses,
So Learn The Easy Way Now And Not The Hard Way When You Might Be Counting Your Regrets And Loses.
It Takes More Than A Vagina For These Young Women To Own Businesses, Plazas,Complexes And Become Their Own Bosses,
But Always Pray And Trust In God For His Help That Can Get You Out Of This 'Bad Girl' Forces,
( Dayo Owoyele)

Falling Oil Prices: LCCI Advises FG To Cut Spending On Refreshments, Sitting Allowance To Save Nigeria’s Economy

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has called on the Federal Government to put drastic economic measures in place, in order to help the country cushion the effect of falling crude oil prices. The chamber suggested further scrutiny in the way public funds are spent. In a statement by its President, Alhaji Remi Bello, the LCCI commended the Federal Government for the fiscal and monetary policy measures taken so far to stabilise the macroeconomic conditions and minimise dislocations. It however asked that some very important additional measures be taken. The chamber noted that there are several budget heads that need serious scrutiny, such as, consolidated revenue fund charges, service wide votes and presidential amnesty programmes. According to Bello, others are: capital supplementation, debt service, refreshments and meals, foodstuffs and catering, honorarium and sitting allowance, welfare packages, as well as repairs and maintenance. “All these budget heads ha...
